In Iceland, the arctic foxes are considered pests.This status is claimed because it is supposed that foxes are threatening the farmers livestock and ducks. Icelandic fox population decreased in 2009/2010 hunting season at 32% for first time since the population estimates were started in 1979, Unnsteinsdóttir (2014).
